Licorice Syrup  4 oz (37 1/2 teaspoon servings per bottle)  $21.00

This licorice syrup contains extract of licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) in a base of vegetable glycerin.

Licorice has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-viral, antiulcer, and antifungal properties. In Germany, licorice extract is used for the treatment of ulcers and for upper respiratory tract infections. And in Japan, one of its components is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver, owing to its protective effect on liver cells.

Licorice is believed to boost hormone production, including secretin and other hormones in the GI tract and brain.  Because of its action on the adrenal glands, licorice is often used by nutritionally oriented physicians to treat chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and other disorders affected by the body's levels of cortisol, the main adrenal hormone. The herb can also be taken for virtually any condition involving inflammation.

We have found that licorice works especially well in when taken together with Vinpocetine to provide optimal neurological support.

This form has the consistency of honey and tastes like molasses.  Being in a syrup form makes it mixable into liquids.
